Holiday week
This week feels very off-balance for me. Actually, since Wednesday, it feels like I've worked a day, then been at home a day. Wednesday I went to work in the morning and then came home sick. Thursday I stayed home and Friday I went back to work. Then the weekend was home, Monday at work, Tuesday home with Nathan, Wednesday at work, and today X-mas home. Tomorrow I'm back at work and then the weekend off. It has a very strange feel to it.
Nathan's school closes for two weeks and I can tell he is off his normal rhythm too. His eating and naps have been less smooth and occasionally in the morning he asks to go to school. My mom, Gary and I have taken turns staying home with him.
We've spent a couple nights of Hannuka with my parents. My dad made delicious latkas twice. Today we hung out with Gary's Parents. Nathan has received lots of fun toys, but we're going to try to ration them out so he doesn't get overwhelmed.

Live DnD
We had a busy weekend. Saturday afternoon we made some holiday visits and spent the evening with the Stedman family (Gary's mother's side). Nathan stayed up way past his bed time and seemed to have a great time with his many second cousins.
Sunday, my mom took Nathan for the afternoon and we got to play some live Dungeons and Dragons. The group fought several hobgoblins, rescued a beautiful half-elf maiden, and solved several riddles to find a secret treasure. I think the game went well and the hours seemed to fly by.
Sunday evening, we lit candles for the first night of Hannuka. My dad made some delicious latkas, and Nathan couldn't get enough applesauce.

Goodbye Frankie
Gary and I have been sick and taking turns throwing up since the middle of Tuesday night. To add to our misery, Gary's Grandmother Frankie died this evenging. Thankfully Nathan is still well and my parents have been able to help take care of him while we are sick.

sushi
Although I did not get to go swimming today, as is my usual Friday routine, I did get to eat some delicious sushi with my family.

Australia
I have a new movie crush. Sigh. I saw Australia again with my Mom yesterday and now I am definitely smitten. What can I say, it has a nice romantic story, action, a good underlying message, and a happy ending. My kind of movie.
