We used to have three cats, but we haven't seen Selina since mid-April. She had disappeared for a week before that, but this time I suspect it is for good. Most likely she has found a new home. She has a microchip so it the pound had picked her up, we'd be notified. It makes me sad that we probably won't ever see her again. She was a very sweet, friendly and super affectionate cat.
Nathan's latest word is "balloon" which actually sounds more like "baaloo."
This weekend went by fast. Partly it was because I kept thinking this was Memorial weekend. My brother came up to visit and it had been almost two months seen we'd seen him. Nathan went to visit his grandparents in OC which gave me sometime to myself. Also, we went to feed the ducks Sunday. Still, the time flew.

A toy in the "whoozit" line got recalled. This is notable since usually 90% of the recalls are cheap toys sold at dollar stores. This is why I will never ever buy my child a toy sold at a dollar store. Disappointing really. Our family is fond of this line and I have given whoozits as gifts (although not the toy named in the recall). A bad mark for this toy company.
Looking back a year ago, I hardly recognize Nathan. He is no longer a baby and much more like a little boy.
The other genetic counselor in my office, Amy, is out all month after surgery and my clerk is out sick. Thankfully things are pretty slow and it hasn't been crazy even with the lack of staff. Today is also the last day for my student intern.
Gary's work seems to have more drama lately with the suggestions of cronyism at LAX. Thankfully, it hasn't made his job harder, just surrounded by rumors and speculation.
