We had a nice weekend. We had dinner with Gary's parents on Saturday and I took Nathan to a baby shower on Sunday. Nathan got some new and some slightly used new toys. He loves the push toy and barrels down the hall at top baby speed. He's very interested in the shape sorter, but does not really understand what crayons are for yet.
Nothing much going on. The days just seem to fly by. I haven't gotten much exercise this week and I can feel it.
Sandra Tsing Loh captures the way I feel about Clinton and Obama with wit. I recommend listening to her reading her commentary live; she has great delivery.

Also, I posted more recent photos of Nathan.
After my temple set up a group and urged us to join, I recently set up a facebook account. In addition to facebook, I also have a profile on myspace. I've found a few faces I recognize from high school and college. It is kind of interesting to see what acquantances are up to, but I doubt it will make much difference in my social circle. Almost all my free time is monopolized by my son anyway.
I checked out predicitfy.com after hearing about it on the radio, and it is pretty neat. It is a web site where you can predict the outcome of real-world events, like elections, TV-show plots, and sports. It is part market research, part publicity. You build a reputation based on your accuracy, and supposedly even get paid real money if you're right enough.
I have a new student intern at work. She's doing well so far. Interns are a bit of a blessing and a curse. On the one hand, they are unpaid slave labor. On the other hand, you have to take time out of your job to teach and supervise them. At this stage in the game, she is more of a time drain than a time saver. But I learn things too, and I feel like I am giving back to the genetic counseling community.
