It is nice to see Wierd Al doing so well. I remember listening to his albums as a kid. My first rock concert was going to see him at the Greek Theater with front row seats when I was 5 years old (I just remember it was way too loud). Apparently alot of his sucess is thanks to YouTube and his myspace page. You can listen to a few of his new songs and watch the new music videos. Even after 30 years and 12 albums, his still has his edge.

Gary and I even got our first baby gift on the weekend. We went to Lisa and Tolga's joint birthday party and got some baby clothes. It was very strange to be accepting these teeny tiny, yellow and white Winnie the Pooh outfits with matching booties. Although I can accept the fact that I am pregnant and there is a little being growing inside me, I am not yet able to make the connection and translate that this will lead to an actual baby for Gary and I to take home in about 4 months.
Gary and I went to the Will Rogers State Park on Sunday. It is a nice size park nestled in the Santa Monica mountains with some hiking trails, grassy fields and Will Roger's ranch house and stables. It kind of reminds me of Brand park or Descanso Gardens near my parents house, except instead of art history, the house has equestrian history. Just like those parks, the property was donated at the owner's death and the public ends up with a big fancy house and acres of land to enjoy. We took a nice loop trail up to a beautiful view of the ocean and downtown LA. I'd never been there before, and it was a nice discover. It's not too far from our place, and it'd be nice to go hiking there again.
Saturday Gary and I hosted another poker party. It was also to celebrate his upcoming birthday. We had 13 players and the game lasted over 4 hours, including a few breaks. I personally feel that I played better than usual and made it to 7th place. Gary did great, getting 3rd and actually winning some money. Mostly it was just nice to have friends over and have fun.
Baby update - I think I have begun to feel fetal movement, aka quickening, although it could always be gas or something.
It is now 5767 and High Holy Days are done for this year. Like last year, I was the chairperson for my temple and have spent alot time and effort organizing the services, staff, parking, food, advertisements, activities, volunteers, audio-visual, childcare, set-up and clean up. Phew, I am so gald it is all done. It was alot of work. I plan to be taking a maternity leave, not only from my job at Kaiser, but also from all the volunteer work I do for the temple.
