Although it was a very long read, I Know This Much is True by Wally Lamb is worth it. And don't let the fact that it was on Oprah's Book club deter you; it is a good story.
I was lured into reading it because the story is told by a man whose identical twin has schizophrenia. At first it seems like fate or genetics (or both) spared him. But this guy just has one unlucky break after another. You learn about his dysfunctional family upbringing, his divorce after his newborn daughter died of SIDS, and even more drama that I won't give away here. There are alot of twists and turns to the plot that will keep those pages turning. It was also interesting to read about the experience growing up with an identical twin. I really enjoyed the story, the writing style, and the life lessons you learn along the way. Overall, I give this book a 9 out of 10.
